This book, the Crocodile and the Dentist, is also cute but not as much as other books by Gomi. The story is about a crocodile that goes to see the dentist. The crocodile is scared and nervous about the visit. The dentist is scared too, of the crocodile. So, the entire book is basically the crocodile and dentist saying the same things/5(33). The crocodile is afraid of the dentist. The dentist is afraid of the crocodile. The morale of this picture book is to brush your teeth. The dentist approaches the crocodile with a drill and pliers while the crocodile is walking into the examine room! The croc cowers behind a tree. I would run for the hills/5. Gomi's humorous tale shows fear from both the dentist and patient's angles, providing a fresh perspective on fear and evoking empathy in the reader. I wrote Jeremy and the Crocodile Dentist after watching a nature program on television. After seeing a crocodile and looking at its "smile," I heard the words crocodile dentist. I picked up a pen and paper, and the little book seemed to write itself. I read the book to family and friends, and they all loved it and wanted me to do something with it.
